自然发生的退休社区
摘要
Naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs) are defined as housing developments that are not planned or designed for older people, but which over time come to house largely older people. NORCs are of interest because they differ from the stereotypical retirement community (RC) and yet are probably the most common form of RC in the U.S. An analysis of NORCs is presented by examining their evolution and comparing them to planned RCs and community-based housing. A supportive neighborhood emerges as the common denominator in each living arrangement.
