Livestock productivity plays a key role in uplifting the economy of -agro-based countries. To reach the potential productivity, animal nutrition is the main area that needs to be focused on. Agri-by-products play a significant role in enhancing the nutritional status of different forms of rations and feeds of livestock as these contain various amounts of macro- and micro-nutrients that are essential for body growth and productivity. Previously, these crop residues were treated by agriculturists as waste and were disposed of into the surrounding environments, causing huge environmental pollution. However, realizing the importance of these residues and the invulnerable costs of animal feed and fertilizers, and challenges to the environment, the agriculturists changed their strategies and started industrialization of these as useful by-products for animal feed. By-products from cotton, sugarcane, groundnut, soybean, and palm oil production are potentially useful as animal feeds. Research on these products’ utilization as animal feeds is the need of the hour to meet the demand of livestock nutrition and, indirectly, of the food requirements of a rapidly increasing human population.
