A machine tool (100) comprises: a display (40) having a touch panel, the display (40) having inputted thereto an input value pertaining to cutting of a workpiece (W1) in a turning process; and a processor (10) that controls operations in a plurality of machining steps. The processor (10) controls a movement mechanism for causing a workpiece main shaft (122) and a tool main shaft (114) to move in a relative manner so that the workpiece (W1) and a turning tool move in a relative manner in the radial direction of a rotation axis (A3) and so that the workpiece (W1) is cut. The movement mechanism and/or a tool main shaft (113) is configured so that a cutting blade (900E) is capable of rotating about a cutting-blade rotation axis that is substantially parallel to the rotation axis (A3). In order to execute a machining step at least once from among the plurality of machining steps, the processor (10) controls the movement mechanism and/or the tool main shaft (114) so that the cutting blade (900E) rotates about the cutting-blade rotation axis by a rotation angle (θ) indicated in the input value.
